New Agenda Item: Update on Application for Demolition Permit by Lovingway House of Worship United Pentacostal Church, 999 S. Colorado Blvd. It is surprising to learn that this church qualifies for landmarking. This is because of its architectural relationship to our Belcaro Park neighborhood as well as the architect himself (Walter Simon). In other words, the suburban form and brick buildings from the 1950s are a distinct era in Denver development. As an adjacent neighborhood, BPHA is notified about this and I should have an update.
New Directors Election: Since Belcaro Park has 4 “Filings”, each with their own covenants, we try to have board representation from each filing. If you are interested in the activities of BPHA, the way to start is to come to the board meetings which are open to all homeowners. Belcaro Park is lucky to have people with many professional talents, from architecture, design, engineering, legal and insurance backgrounds, plus website and social media, and administrative.

IF YOU’VE SEEN THESE THE PAST FEW YEARS YOU KNOW HOW LOVELY THEY ARE. THANK YOU TO HEATHER BACON FOR BRINGING US THIS IDEA AND TOGETHER WITH HER TEAM AND FAMILIES WE GET TO HAVE THEM AGAIN THIS YEAR,
VOLUNTEERS HAVE THE MOST FUN — please let Heather know if you can join making the bags and setting them out.
DEC 24, 10-1 PM @ HEATHER AND DAVE BACON’S HOUSE, 730 S. GARFIELD ST.
Please come by to help assemble the bags or stop by to help distribute them around the neighborhood. We need all the help. you can give. Bring the whole family. The set up is in the garage and driveway.
Do you have a pickup truck or SUV that can help deliver the bags to different locations? Last year was very very cold and that made it even more fun. Hot chocolate will be available.
This is a great opportunity to connect with your neighbors and see if anyone needs help or if they will be in town. The biggest impact is when the entire neighborhood has the luminaries. Help us build community and light up the neighborhood.
CHRISTMAS EVE, ABOUT 4-5 PM
Make sure your bags are set out by around 4 pm and then as it gets dark, light your bags and any others that might need to be lit. There are enough bags for setting up about 1 per 15 feet. So the average Belcaro Park residence will have about 4 bags in front.

For the past few years, volunteers have created a summer block party and a December holiday display of luminaria along each street within Belcaro Park. The summer party has been perfect for families while the luminaria have been magical.
